Taking and looking at Landscape Pictures:

For your next assignment you are going to be taking Landscape pictures.  We will be going outside and taking landscapes around the building and then you may sign out cameras to take them after school as well.  For this assignment I want you to take at least 20 photo's of the following subjects:
1.  A building in the picture
2.  An object in the picture, does not need to be the focus
3.  Water, the Lake or River
4.  Trees/Hills
5.Sun Rise/Set or Moon

Example Photos:
1.
2. Photo by Mr. Doug Kishman
3.
4.
5.
This last piece really is a wonderful picture in so many ways.  It has objects in the middle that lead you into the picture of the Rock/object in the lake with the sun setting in the background and the different colors and shapes within the clouds.

  1. 1. Tell me what you learned about yourself as a photographer thus far. Make a list of your strengths and weaknesses as far as how well you take photos. It is important for you to recognize these aspects.

I learned that i need to look at what I'm taking a picture of before i do

    2. Tell me a little bit about your experience with Photoshop thus far. How comfortable do you feel with just Color Corrections and resizing your images? List any questions or concerns. Explain a problem you may have run into and how you went about handling your problem.

i think it is kinda fun to use. I'm not too sure yet butt I'm getting there

  3. I have learned that I take decent pictures. Some weaknesses that I have are I still take somewhat blurry pictures from time to time. I think I do good on taking pictures of what I am focusing on.

So far using Photoshop it has been pretty easy to figure out. I am comfortable so far with using just color corrections and resizing my pictures. I like using photoshop to make my pictures look more attractive.

  4. I learned how to change settings on the camera to make the photos look more attractive in certain lighting, when the standard setting does not do it justice. I`m trying to learn how to make the pictures less blurry, I used a tripod for most of them because I cannot hold a camera very still. And I think I do well in picking out what to photograph, which scenery would look best from what I have.

I feel very comfortable with Photoshop, I am now familiar with even more tools than before, like the stamp tool and the magnetic selection tool. When I was making the rough draft for my poster yesterday I put in shapes and wanted to make them gradient. So I played around with it for a bit and figured out to hide the background layer, and then merge visible layers (the shapes), then I used the quick selection tool to select each shape and then used the gradient tool, it did what I wanted it to do.

  5. 1. I think my strengths are taking pictures of landscapes and people from different angles. My weaknesses are definitely taking pictures indoors of objects. Like the alphabet project, I don't do well at making things up. I like to take pictures of what's already there.

    2. Very comfortable with photoshop. I have experience with it from being in this class last year. And if I don't know how to do something, I figure it out. I problem I had was the lasso, but I changed it to magnetic and it made it easier.
