Photos of People

Moving how to take photos of people.  All of the rules that we have been using so far are going to be used when taking photos of people.  Think about the following things:

The rule of Thirds
What is in the background-is it interesting or distracting?(in your still lives a lot of you had random chunks of white showing in a black background-that is not aesthetically pleasing)
Staying Focused-I don't want to see blurry photos
Think about Close ups/ head shots/ vs. whole body shots
TAKE MULTIPLE PICTURES-let the people in the photo know how many photos you will be taking.  You need to communicate well here and be directive.  Don't be timid or it will show in your photos.

Now you will be choosing your PEOPLE:
We are going to be making a LARGE banner of all the clubs/ organizations/ sports/ any group of people we can think of in the school.  You will all be assigned to a group.  We will put the banner up on the cafeteria and want it to stretch from one side of the cafeteria to the other on the back wall.  I would like to add some of you landscapes that represent Vermilion in here too.  So as a group we are going to make a list of groups and then we will divee them up amongst our class.  You will each need to take about 30+ photos of your group of students.  This banner is going to represent our school and the students within it.

SOOOOO, once we have finished taking photos you are all going to drop me all of your RAW pictures, then you are going to choose your best 3-5 photos of that group and drop them into my drop box.  If you need to color enhance them before you drop them you may do so, but it is not necessary.  Once I have everyones photos in I will put all of the photos into my Handouts folder.  You will then be creating a banner in Photoshop using everyones photos of students in our school.  In photoshop I will be teaching you how to use TEXT, the PEN tool, the PAINT BUCKET, the GRADIENT TOOL, CLONE STAMP and MAGIC ERASER and how to change COLORS.  I will also be teaching you about layout designs and what works and what doesn't.

This is a large assignment and may take you a bit more time, but it is going to put your PHOTOSHOP skills to the test and you are going to show me how good you can be at putting multiple images together and creating your own design.
